This weekend saw the last ESMBA National Qualifiers Competition of 2023 for Greater Manchester take place with the Over 55s Pairs and it didn’t disappoint! <\/p>\n\n\n\n
The day saw 24 players bowl in 34 games across 6 mats, and spectators were treated to a fantastic display of bowling talent in some closely contested matches. Ultimately Steven Roberts and Mike Anderson took first place and secured themselves a place at the ESMBA Nationals in February at Solihull Indoor Bowling Centre. <\/p>\n\n\n\n
It wasn’t an easy ride for our winners however as they had to beat Mark McHugh and John Pajak who finished the knockout stages with the same 10 points having won all their games and had a massive 13-4 win in the semi-finals, the final was very close all the way through, but Steven and Mike secured their place with a 10-9 win after 12 ends.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We are very proud of our finalists of all our ESMBA Qualifier competitions this season and we’re absolutely certain they will do us proud when they go on to represent Greater Manchester in the Nationals early next year … we hope you will help us in cheering them on!<\/p>\n\n\n\n
