Safeguarding

Greater Manchester Short Mat Bowling Association (GMSMBA) are committed to safeguarding all those in Greater Manchester clubs who participate in our sport, ensuring they can do so in a safe, positive, and enjoyable environment.

All of our clubs have trained, DBS checked, safeguarding officers who are supported by our county safeguarding lead, Charlie Cooper. As a county, we are supported by the English Short Mat Bowling Association (ESMBA) who are part of the bowls umbrella organisation the BDA and act in unison with the other four bowls codes to ensure whatever type of bowls is being played, there is a cohesive and consistent approach to safeguarding.

Like the ESMBA, we believe everyone has a duty of care towards children and other vulnerable people with whom they have contact, and to safeguard and protect them from abuse.

You can find out more about ESMBA Safeguarding policies, contacts and more on their website here: https://www.esmba.co.uk/safeguarding/esmba-commitment-to-safeguarding/

If you have any questions or would like to raise a concern with our county safeguarding lead, you can contact Charlie Cooper using the form here.
