Over the weekend, bowlers from all over the world travelled to Chelmsford in Essex to take part in the Short Mat Players Tour World Fours Masters and World Pairs Masters competitions. The line up included just under 250 players on Saturday in the World Fours and 256 players on Sunday in the World Pairs Masters. Amongst the competitors were some of our very own Greater Manchester players and we’re thrilled to report that they did very well!
On Saturday, the World Fours Masters saw Steven Roberts, Mike Anderson, Annabelle Almond and Dave Almond (pictured) get right to the end and win the Plate, whilst Ben Holbrook and his team made it all the way to the quarter finals of the Cup knockout.
Then on Sunday, Steven Roberts and Mike Anderson got all the way to the Plate knockout semi-finals, narrowly missing out with an 8-5 defeat by the ultimate Plate winners, whilst Annabelle & Dave Almond made it to the Plate last 16 and Ben Holbrook and his partner battled his way to the Cup Knockout last 16.
